CalmGrid migraine forecast
A personal daily risk score, with the contributing signals explained
The forecast combines Open-Meteo weather and air-quality data with your logged attack history and, when connected and available, sleep, HRV, and menstrual-cycle data. It calculates a 0–100 score—low below 30, moderate 30–59, high 60–79, and very high at 80 or above—and ranks the reasons by their contribution so you can see what is influencing that day’s estimate.
Weather and air quality
- Pressure: below 1007 hPa; a stronger signal below 1000 hPa.
- Pressure change: a 24-hour drop of at least 5 hPa; stronger at 8 hPa or more.
- Air quality: PM2.5 above 35; stronger above 55.
- Pollen: at least 50 grains/m³.
- Temperature: a 24-hour swing of at least 8 °C.
- Humidity: at least 85%.
Personal and calendar signals
- Sleep: more than 90 minutes below your recent average, or under 6 hours.
- HRV: more than 20% below your recent average.
- Cycle: menstrual or estimated ovulation phase.
- Recent attacks: attacks logged in the past 3 days.
- Weekday pattern: a weekday with at least 1.5× your average weekday attack count in the 90-day history (requires at least 8 attacks).
- Weekend: a weekend timing signal.
Horizon, precisely: the Open-Meteo weather and air-quality requests cover up to 7 forecast days. CalmGrid’s detailed chart shows saved daily risk scores for the selected date and the six preceding days; it is not a display of seven future daily risk scores. The optional notification service currently calculates scores for today and tomorrow.
Access: the live forecast card and expanded details are Pro features. The detail view limits free access to the risk band and top reason; the numeric score, full ranked reasons, signal values, and seven-day chart are Pro-gated. Forecast notifications can be enabled separately and require notification permission.

Weather requires location permission. Sleep, HRV, and menstrual-cycle inputs require optional Apple Health access on iOS; missing signals are simply unavailable to the calculation.
More ways CalmGrid helps you track
The app is designed to make personal tracking and review easier. It does not diagnose migraine or replace a clinician's advice.
Log an attack in a guided flow
Record start and end time, severity, pain location, symptoms, triggers, medication dose and response, relief methods, and impact. Skip wizard steps when you need to.
Review your logged patterns
Reports summarize logged attacks and related factors, including severity, duration, triggers, symptoms, and medication effectiveness.
Share a date-range PDF report
Export a PDF summary for 30 days, 90 days, or a custom range. It includes attack totals, severity and duration summaries, top logged triggers and symptoms, medication effectiveness, and detailed log entries. PDF export requires Pro access.
Keep control of your health entries
Migraine logs are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. There is no account or cloud sync for those entries. App usage analytics and diagnostic data are handled separately; see the privacy policy.
Platforms
CalmGrid is listed on the Apple App Store for iPhone. The app repository also configures an Android package/build target, but we could not verify a public Android store listing, so this page does not claim that an Android version is currently available to download.
Pricing
The App Store lists CalmGrid as a free download with in-app purchases. The app uses an optional Pro entitlement for some features, including PDF export and expanded insights. Current prices, plans, and trial terms are not stated here; check the offer presented in the App Store or app before purchasing.
Privacy, in plain language
Attack logs, symptoms, triggers, medication entries, and other health records are stored locally in the app's SQLite database. The content of these health entries is not uploaded to CalmGrid's servers. There is no account requirement or cloud synchronization for the diary.
That does not mean the app sends no information at all. CalmGrid uses analytics and crash/diagnostic services to improve the app; the privacy policy says health screens are masked in session recordings. Apple handles App Store purchases, and Adapty manages subscription status. The App Store privacy label also identifies data categories such as purchases, identifiers, usage, diagnostics, and location. Review the full privacy policy for details.
When you export a PDF or JSON file, it leaves the app through your device's sharing feature; where you send or store that file is up to you. Your device's own backup settings may also include local app data.
Want to take a diary to your next visit?
A report can support the conversation, but CalmGrid's PDF does not calculate monthly headache days, acute-medication days, or standardized disability scores. See what clinicians may ask for and how to supplement the export.

What does the CalmGrid migraine tracker do?
CalmGrid lets you view a personal daily migraine risk estimate based on available weather, air-quality, sleep, HRV, cycle, and attack-history signals, with contributing reasons shown in the app. It also lets you log attacks, symptoms, triggers, medication use, relief methods, and impact, review reports, and export a shareable PDF for selected dates.
How does the CalmGrid migraine forecast work?
CalmGrid combines Open-Meteo weather and air-quality data with personal signals when available: sleep compared with your recent baseline, HRV compared with its baseline, menstrual or ovulation phase, recent attacks, your 90-day weekday pattern, and weekend timing. The scoring rules look for signals such as low pressure, a rapid pressure drop, higher PM2.5 or pollen, temperature swings, high humidity, shorter or unusually reduced sleep, and lower HRV. It produces a daily score from 0 to 100: low below 30, moderate 30–59, high 60–79, and very high at 80 or above. Contributing reasons are ranked by score contribution. The weather data request spans up to seven forecast days, but the app does not currently present seven future daily risk scores: the detailed chart shows saved scores for the selected date and previous six days, and scheduled forecast notifications calculate today and tomorrow. The expanded forecast is Pro-gated. This is an informational estimate, not a diagnosis.
Is CalmGrid available for Android?
The app configuration includes an Android package target, but we could not verify a public Android store listing. The App Store link on this page is for iPhone. Check the official store page for current availability.
How much does CalmGrid cost?
CalmGrid is listed as a free download with in-app purchases. The app includes an optional Pro entitlement; current prices and any trial terms depend on the offer shown in the app and storefront. We do not publish a fixed price here.
Does CalmGrid store my migraine logs in the cloud?
Migraine logs and related health entries are stored in a local SQLite database on your device and are not uploaded to CalmGrid servers. The app separately collects usage analytics and diagnostics, and subscription purchases are handled through Apple and Adapty. Operating-system backups and any files you export are controlled by your device and sharing choices.
Can I share a report with my neurologist?
Yes. CalmGrid can export a PDF summary for a selected date range, which you can share using your device. The report summarizes logged attacks, symptoms, triggers, severity, duration, and medication effectiveness, but it does not calculate monthly headache days, acute-medication days, MIDAS, or HIT-6.
Does CalmGrid diagnose migraine or predict an attack?
No. CalmGrid is a tracking and informational tool, not a medical device. The migraine forecast is an informational estimate, not a diagnosis.
